PCB circuit board wastewater copper recovery

In recent years, with the rapid development of the electronics industry, PCB production and manufacturing volume has also increased year by year. However, PCB manufacturing companies will produce a large amount of copper-containing wastewater in the processes of etching, pickling, brushing and washing. Copper is a valuable resource with a certain recycling value. If it is not properly treated, it will not only cause serious impact on the environment, but also cause serious waste of resources.

Case: A PCB circuit board manufacturer has a copper ion concentration of about 500mg/L in its copper-containing wastewater. The ion exchange resin treatment process is adopted. After pretreatment, the wastewater enters the ion exchange resin adsorption column. The resin in the adsorption column has an adsorption rate of copper ions of more than 95%. When the resin is saturated, it is regenerated with 8% sulfuric acid solution, and the regenerated resin is continued to be used for adsorption.

Effect: Through this ion exchange resin copper recovery process, the discharge concentration of copper ions in the company's wastewater has been reduced to below 5mg/L, meeting the local emission standards. At the same time, the recovered copper is reused in the form of copper sulfate, which greatly reduces the company's copper procurement cost and achieves good economic and environmental benefits.
