Plant Extract Saponins

Introduction to Saponins
Saponins are a class of complex glycoside compounds composed of sapogenins and sugars, sugar aldehydes, or other organic acids. Plants such as soybeans, ginseng, notoginseng, and gynostemma pentaphyllum are all excellent raw materials for extracting saponins. Saponins have surface activity and can produce foam, and are widely used in many fields such as medicine, cosmetics, and food.
Medical field:
Saponin products have a wide range of applications in the medical field. For example, ginsenosides can be made into drugs to treat cardiovascular diseases and enhance immunity. In the research and development of anti-tumor drugs, some plant saponins also show potential application value. By inhibiting cancer cells, they provide new ideas for cancer treatment.
Cosmetics field:
In cosmetics, saponins can be used as natural surfactants. Plant extracts containing saponins are used in facial cleansers, shampoos, etc., to produce rich foam and have certain skin care and hair care effects. For instance, plant extracts containing saponins used in shampoos can clean the scalp and hair and have a certain nourishing effect on the scalp.
Food field:
Adding an appropriate amount of saponins to food can serve as a nutritional fortifier. Some health drinks contain components such as gynostemma pentaphyllum saponins, which play a role in regulating human body functions. With the increasing demand for natural and healthy products, plant-extracted saponin products have broad prospects in the market.
The extracted saponin solution usually contains impurities and needs to be purified. The commonly used purification method is macroporous resin adsorption. Jiangsu Kingshan BJ7509 macroporous resin has a porous structure and can selectively adsorb saponins while allowing impurities to pass through. For example, the extract containing saponins is passed through a column filled with BJ7509 macroporous resin, where the saponins are adsorbed on the resin, and then an appropriate eluent (such as an ethanol-water mixture) is used to elute the saponins, thereby achieving the purpose of purification.
Jiangsu Jinshan macroporous adsorption resin has advantages in terms of price, performance, service, delivery time, and production capacity.
